Explosion in The Hague Neighborhood, Search for Victims Ongoing

An explosion this morning caused part of an apartment building in The Hague to collapse. Residents reported hearing a loud bang and described the event as shocking. The cause of the explosion is currently unknown.

Police noted that shortly after the incident, a car was seen speeding away from the Tarwekamp area. They are requesting witnesses who saw the vehicle or have camera footage to come forward.

Emergency services are on the scene, but the search for victims is proceeding slowly due to the risk of further collapse and smoldering debris. Four people have been taken to the hospital with injuries, but it is unclear if there are additional victims.

Approximately 40 homes have been evacuated, and residents are being accommodated elsewhere in the neighborhood. People concerned about loved ones who may have been affected can call the information line at 088-0908000, according to the fire department.
